But you can help change that, by participating in a Business Recycling Program, offered by San Bruno Garbage Company. Whether your business is a small one-person operation, or you have 1000 employees, there is a recycling program available to fit your needs.

San Bruno Garbage Company offers free recycling service to commercial customers, which includes the collection of mixed paper, bottles & cans and cardboard. On request, San Bruno Garbage will perform a waste analysis to help determine what materials can be diverted from your businesses waste stream. They will even help you find disposal options for hazardous waste, such as computer monitors & televisions, fluorescent tubes, cell phones, batteries and paint.

So what are you waiting for? Recycling service is just a phone call away, and if you call now, you can receive a free 7-gallon recycling container, courtesy of the City of San Bruno.

Recycling containers are available on a first-come, first service basis and were purchased with Grant Funds provided by the California Department of Conservation.

Hazardous waste disposal options for businesses:

Very Small Quantity Generator Program (VSQG)
A VSQG (per state law) is any business that generates less than 100 kilograms (about 220 pounds or 27 gallons) of hazardous waste per month. The VSQG Program is designed to provide an inexpensive hazardous waste disposal option to eligible businesses, non-profits, and government agencies.

If you do not qualify for the VSQG program:
If your business generates more than 100 kilograms of hazardous waste per month, you will need to find the appropriate commercial hazardous waste management company to handle your material. Companies that provide this service may be found in the yellow pages or by contacting the County's hazardous waste department at 650-363-4957.
